Mayfair Man and Van Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Mayfair Man and Van has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking do not occur within our operations or supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard people from exploitation.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Mayfair Man and Van has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We expect the same high standards from everyone we work with, including employees, contractors, agency staff, and suppliers. Any indication that our standards are not being met will be treated as a serious breach of our values and may result in termination of contracts or employment, as well as reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our leadership team is responsible for promoting a culture where respect for human rights is integral to how we operate. All business decisions are made with an understanding that modern slavery is unacceptable under any circumstances.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Mayfair Man and Van operates in the removals, transport, and related support services sector. Our supply chains include vehicle providers, fuel and equipment suppliers, facility and maintenance services, and agencies providing temporary labour. While we consider our sector to be at relatively low risk of complex multinational supply chains, we recognise that risks can arise in the sourcing of goods, use of subcontractors, and recruitment practices.
We aim to work with reputable suppliers and partners who share our commitment to ethical conduct and who can demonstrate robust safeguards against exploitation in their own operations.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We conduct proportionate due diligence on our key suppliers and contractors to assess the risk of modern slavery within their operations. This may include reviewing publicly available information, requesting details of their own modern slavery policies, and asking them to confirm compliance with applicable labour and human rights legislation.
Where appropriate and feasible, we undertake supplier audits or request evidence of third-party audits to verify that working conditions are safe, lawful, and free from exploitation. We reserve the right to conduct further checks where we identify higher-risk areas, such as labour-intensive services or suppliers operating in sectors or locations with known vulnerabilities.
Any supplier found to be in breach of our modern slavery expectations will be required to remediate the issue promptly. Persistent non-compliance or refusal to cooperate will result in the review and possible termination of the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Mayfair Man and Van encourages all employees, workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to speak up if they have concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our business or supply chains. Concerns can be raised in confidence with line managers, senior management, or designated safeguarding contacts within the company.
We are committed to ensuring that individuals who raise concerns in good faith do not suffer any form of retaliation or disadvantage. All allegations or suspicions of modern slavery will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled sensitively. Where appropriate, we will report matters to the relevant authorities and fully cooperate with any external investigations.
Training and Awareness
We provide appropriate training and guidance to relevant staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management, to help them identify signs of modern slavery and understand the correct steps to take if they have concerns. Awareness of modern slavery risks is promoted as part of our wider commitment to ethical conduct and responsible business practices.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to continually improving our processes to prevent modern slavery. This includes reviewing our policies, risk assessments, and due diligence procedures to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to the risks we face as our business evolves.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed on an annual basis by senior management. As part of this review, we consider feedback from employees and suppliers, findings from audits, and any incidents or concerns raised. Where necessary, we update our procedures and introduce additional measures to strengthen our approach.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Mayfair Man and Van and represents our ongoing commitment to upholding human rights and eliminating modern slavery in all its forms within our operations and supply chains.
